MAILA SAT X W – Passive Nearfill or Array Satellite Speaker, white.

MAILA SAT X is a passive nearfill or array satellite and serves as a hybrid point/line-source loudspeaker. Use SAT X on its own and you will get 40° vertical coverage for nearfill applications. As soon as another MAILA SAT is mounted via SmartLink+®, it automatically switches to a 8° vertical characteristic for array use – ensuring the right behaviour without additional configuration steps. For flexible placement, MAILA SAT X can be mounted on a speaker pole or flown on truss using the optional EasyMount+® adapter. For nearfill or point-source deployments, the integrated pull-out tilt stand (0°, 4°, 9°, 14° and 19°) provides stable, quick and precise aiming.

Inside the elegant and robust unibody aluminium enclosure, MAILA SAT X uses the same core acoustic platform as MAILA SAT: five vertically arranged 1" dome tweeters and a 6.5" midrange driver in a coaxial design based on advanced WaveAhead® technology, coupled almost interference-free via SonicGuide® (two combined waveguides). The additional passive membrane delivers extended low-mid performance down to 100 Hz despite its compact housing size. The result is high definition and controlled behaviour across the critical vocal and presence range, with a consistent 100° horizontal dispersion.

MAILA SAT X offers clean cabling for both usescases. SmartLink+® provides a secure, cable-free mechanical and signal connection within MAILA arrays, using robust aluminium rails with integrated contacts, while SpeakON® I/O supports straightforward loop-through daisy-chaining for up to four SAT X.

For passive MAILA systems, ADA amplifiers in combination with ArmoníaPlus provide a structured, repeatable setup workflow. We have transferred the MAILA Quick Setup approach into ArmoníaPlus by creating dedicated manufacturer EQs (MEQ) and presets for 250+ MAILA configurations. Select your MAILA configuration and receive the key setup guidance you need – such as pick-up points and satellite curving. The selected configuration includes the required compensation for loudspeaker coupling and air loss over distance, providing a reliable starting point. ArmoníaPlus supports our Wink-LED identification for passive MAILA components and offers further tuning options, including live Smart integration, plus valuable insight into system health and available headroom.
